The Texas Women’s Foundation Ruby Luncheon was a g The Texas Women’s Foundation Ruby Luncheon was a great reminder of the impact @texaswomensfdn has made and the work that we still have to do.

But it was nice to take a moment and celebrate one of my favorite CEOs, Karen Hughes White, and the incredible work of her powerhouse team at the Texas Women’s Foundation.

One of the things I love most about the TWF community is how diverse it is. You see women from every walk of life, at every stage of their careers, coming together with one shared purpose: advancing economic security and leadership for women and girls. It’s the kind of room that cements the importance and impact of supporting organizations that are truly doing this work.

We were also gifted an inspiring message from Christine Baranski, who reminded us of the power of speaking about our lives and desires in a declarative state and showing through grace, resilience, and presence that it is never too late to follow your dreams. A message we all needed.

I loved spending the day surrounded by some of the most inspiring women I know and my EWLN village!

Cheers to 40 years of impact, and to the next 40 years of women leading boldly, lifting each other up, and shaping a future we all deserve.

Who wouldn’t want to learn best practices for teaching resilience practices to their students/clients, the science behind them, and how to take care of themselves in the process??

I’m so grateful to be able to work with some of the most amazing teams, schools, and humans.

I just hit my 11 year Anniversary of moving to Dal I just hit my 11 year Anniversary of moving to Dallas and I’m 8 years deep as a full time entrepreneur! 💐

I remember when I used to think success for me would be climbing the ladder to the head of HR. And then, when I quit my job to start this Professional Development company, I thought surely someone would have a blueprint for me.

But after a really grounding&reflective lunch with Rita the other day I realized something that has largely contributed to my success professionally and the intentional life I’ve created personally.

I’ve remained open.

There’s always been things I really wanted. I’m the girl who does the annual retreat to get the clarity, then comes back to create the vision board, & follows it up with journaling and daily affirmations. And I love that for me 🤣.

But I’ve also always known that there are infinite possibilities. That my desires are constantly expanding. And most importantly, what God has for me likely wildly exceeds the little dreams I piece together.

So, I shared with Rita that I always follow up my prayers or desires with, “This or something greater” & realized how open that has allowed me to be despite the volatility, disappointment, losses, and discouragement that can come with entrepreneurship.

It’s what has allowed me to know that if things don’t work out the way I hoped, in time, I’ll realize why or make peace with the fact that I may not have been able to see the full picture of an outcome.

These days, success is my ability to surrender&adapt.

It can be so easy to fix our minds around what we want and the way we want it. But holding too tightly to things keeps us from recognizing the other avenues that something is trying to make its way to you. You’re so busy GRIPPING that specific job, title, partner, car, home etc. that you can’t see the infinite possibilities all around you.

This week, I just want to encourage you to let things play out a little more. Know the general direction that you’re going, move your hands&feet, but remain open&allow moments of redirection to create opportunities for clarity.

Trust that everything is working in your favor. And create a great week! #makomindfulness
I recently bumped into Kelsel at the JP Morgan Wor I recently bumped into Kelsel at the JP Morgan Workforce Summit and got to hear her share some of the things that @paulquinncollege is up to and their innovative approach to preparing students for success in their careers.

Did you know that PQC is the only HBCU and urban-area based college that is a part of the consortium of schools that is a Work College?

PQC with organizations like yours across the city to provide students with an opportunity to learn critical skills, explore their interest, and graduate nearly debt free.

Let me tell you why I love this effort.

Every workforce conversation I listen in on talks about what younger employee’s *don’t* have. “They lack social skills” “They don’t listen” “They can’t handle feedback” etc.

And any time I am actively in the conversation I’m going to double down on at least two things: 1. The value of experiential learning & 2. The importance of practice in a low stakes environment (which is why we created Pinpoint 📍 link in bio!)

Students need opportunities to understand the impact of the behaviors we are criticizing them for. Because honestly, we set them up to fail when we throw them into work environments without opportunities to understand the weight of what they do and say when they get there. At that point the stakes are high, the patience is thin, and the consequences are brutal.

Which is why I can appreciate what PQC is doing. Students are getting work experience while actively experiencing a Practice Field that allows them to get feedback and insight into what they want to do and how to thrive when they get there.

If you’ve ever been on Paul Quinn’s Campus but haven’t had “The Kelsel Tour” then you haven’t REALLY been on Paul Quinn’s Campus, so definitely go back. If you’re interested in learning more about Paul Quinn’s innovative approach, partnering with PQC to provide opportunities for students, or want to support their efforts by helping them find transportation solutions. Reach out to Kelsel!

I recently facilitated our signature Creating Psyc I recently facilitated our signature Creating Psychological Safety training for a group of childcare professionals.

Before diving in, we did a quick check-in: What would make your work experience feel more psychologically safe?

Three main themes emerged:
✨ Clear expectations
✨ Resources to support their mental health and well-being
✨ A culture that prioritizes respect for each other

🎯THIS is your reminder that Psychological Safety isn’t a “nice to have.” It’s essential.

Even if you don’t fully buy into the concept, research tells us that 89% of employees say Psychological Safety is essential in the workplace.

That’s nearly nine out of ten people who believe it directly impacts their ability to show up, contribute, and grow. C’mon ya’ll!

Listen, Psychological Safety is so much more than how people “feel” at work.

It’s the outcome of intentional systems, leadership behaviors, and cultural norms that reduce psychosocial risks which are things like unclear expectations, chronic stress, or fear of speaking up.

If you’re wondering whether your organization is psychologically safe, the fact that you’re asking the question is already a good start 🤣. But here are a few other signs that may indicate it’s time to be more intentional:

Your employees are ⬇️

❌ Holding Back Thoughts: If ideas or concerns are often met with dismissal or indifference, communication barriers likely exist.
❌ Showing Fear Around Mistakes: If missteps are treated as failures rather than learning opportunities, people won’t take risks.
❌ Demonstrating Low Participation: Consistent silence in meetings can signal that employees don’t feel secure or valued.
❌ Experiencing Chronic Stress: Ongoing stress often points to an environment where people don’t feel supported or heard.

👇 Have you experienced any of these signs on your team? What do you think makes people feel psychologically safe where you work? Let me know in the comments.

Thank you to Child Care Group for allowing me to share my practice with your providers!

Last week, the Circle of Friends board came together for Trunk or Treat to support the families of @newfriendsnewlife , and we took home 1st place for the second year in a row, this time showing up as Toy Story! 💫

Now, to know me is to know I love to win. But I also deeply love the mission of New Friends New Life and what it means to be part of Circle of Friends.

We have a great time, but we also care deeply about the communities we serve and the women and girls NFNL empowers every day.

✨ Helping members rebuild their closets
✨ Making sure the staff feels seen and supported
✨ Filling in when extra hands are needed
✨ Sharing the mission to bring others into the cause
✨ Serving dinner on a Wednesday evening

There are countless ways to get involved with New Friends New Life and support their mission of empowering women and girls who have been trafficked or exploited.

One way to stay connected and deepen your commitment is by joining The Circle of Friends or MAG (Men’s Advocacy Group).. both equip you to show up and support the mission in meaningful, hands-on ways.
