What is Self-Care

I stress the importance of self-care a lot. It’s absolutely crucial for managing your stress.  

 

But here’s an important reminder: 

 

Self-care is about what works for YOU. 

 

Sometimes it feels like there’s this pressure out there to have the PERFECT self-care plan in place. And while self-care is important, PERFECT self-care isn’t practical. 

 

Self-care is the intentional act of taking care of your mental, physical, and emotional health. And having tools and strategies that allow you to refuel yourself and take care of yourself lets you continue to show up the present, engaged, and effective for those around you. 

 

I just want to remind you that it’s completely okay if your version of self-care looks different than those around you.
